First Aid - Wound Care.

First Aid - Wound Care is a new course designed to equip learners with essential skills and knowledge for effectively managing and treating wounds. This course covers various types of wounds, proper cleaning and dressing techniques, recognizing signs of infection, and understanding when to seek further medical assistance. Participants will engage in practical scenarios and assessments to enhance their confidence and competence in wound care. Completing this course will provide foundational first aid skills applicable in both everyday situations and emergency contexts.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES

By the end of this module, overseas pharmacist should be able to:  

• Understand what wounds are and how they heal

• How to assist customers with minor cuts and grazes and how to dress them.

• How to assist customers with burns or scalds and how to dress them.

• Questions to ask the customer

• Triggers for referral to the pharmacist

• Maintain and build on their own knowledge of first aid and wound care products
